stop drop and roll!

The firefighters are coming to Walt's school on Friday so today they began to practice. The teachers said the kids were really cute! I am sure that they were. Walt is wearing a white shirt with red sleeves.

Baloon Race

I kind of forgot to post this picture. It's from last Saturday - the Great Forest Park Baloon Race was that day, and we went to watch it start. Walt had a lot of fun running around and watching the baloons flying through the air. Sorry for the quality of the picture - the lighting wasn't the best.

New Listening Station!?!?

They just got their listening station up and running in walt's classroom. Here are 2 pictures from today. It is raining here, so the one picture was before or after they ran around in the gym.

Walt's Back-up Birthday Party part 1

We had so much fun at our house with all of our guests. Here are just some of the best pictures...

Walt 's birthday party day....

Well I (sara) got up at 6am to shower and pack the car to go and reserve the pavillion that according to their website was first come first serve... Well I got there first and decorated the whole thing. Bob brought our big broom and swept the whole thing, to find out 30 min before our party that you CAN reserve it, and people that paid for the place were there. So we had to pack up our entire party and head home. And call everyone. Walt did not know the difference, but I was pretty flustered. Here are some pics from the park non-party. You can see the box of books, instead of gifts we asked our guests to bring books to donate to a St Louis Public School. Our guests were every generous we had 3 boxes full of books to give to the kids of Walbridge.

walt's actual b-day cupcake fun

so they put quite the dye in cupcakes these days. This cupcake had purple frosting. These were taken on Walt's actual birthday on Friday, Sept 11. We did find out from our dr visit that walt is now 30lbs (wow!) and 35"

portrait pancakes

Walt has been having an awesome time at school (although he does not like getting dropped off, i will admit there have been some tears for both of us) He really loves it and is just so happy to tell me about his day (in his words) and is smiling big when I arrive. Today they made portrait pancakes. Here is a picture as walt starts....

first day...

So walt is still at school (as am I) but our teachers send an email everyday during nap time to let us know what they did. I guess that Walt had a blast. He named the Goldfish Dorthy (after Elmo's fish) and they included some pictures as well. In this pic, he is definitely saying "CHEESE" to the camera. And the other one, he is in the background already getting into some trouble.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Walt!

Walt is 2 today. Bob and I were talking last night and time has just flown by. Walt has been going to Peggy's house for the past 2 years, but she does not take kids past 2, so today walt started a new school. He will be going to the early childhood center in my school district (which happens to be across the street from my school). He was very excited today when we dropped him off. Here are 2 pictures from this morning.

Grandma and Nanny time!

Between the 2 grandmothers walt has been well taken care of for the past 3 weeks. We are so lucky! Walt will start his new school next Friday. He has visited twice and loves the room ( they have 3 fish!)
He talks all the time. He loves to sing and listen to music (sometimes the same song for what can seem like hours- COWS by Sandra Boyton is the latest fav)

Today, Nanny took walt to a park in Cape with an old train that you can climb and play in. The train's name was Hoppy, but walt called it Poppy!
