Days 3 and 4 of vacation

We are in quite a routine, walt is still taking his standard 2 naps a day. Mommy and Daddy just read and play card games. We go on long walks every morning, there are some brutal hills here, so we all get a little sweaty. We go to the pool 2 times a day and today we got our life jackets on and headed to the lake. We had been wanting to go in, but just hadn't yet. Walt loved it.

Day 1 and 2 on vacation

We arrived yesterday and went stright to the pool. It is a great pool for walt because he can play and stand in shallow water. We have a one bedroom condo. We have an amazing view of Table Rock Lake. Today we took a long walk around the resort, went to the pool twice, had some naps, and then went to a new area called Branson Landing and ate dinner at an Irish Pub. Walt was very tired from our day, he only made it to 7:15pm tonight!

Today while my sister and I were out shopping Walt climbed all 20 stairs with Bob! Sorry about the side angle filming. I will work to do better for you the "blog readers".

We leave next Sunday for a week at the lake so we are borrowing this backpack from our friends. Bob said that he feels completely off balance, we will have to work on that. We are going to try to take morning hikes.

weekend in Chicago

The 3 of us headed to Chicago for a weekend of seeing as many friends as we could. We stayed with our good friends Jill, Jarrett, and Dylan on Thursday and Friday night and then on Saturday night Bob stayed with Dave and Walt and I went to the 'burbs and hung out with pregnant Aunt Cari. On Sunday we had a baby shower for Cari and then we went to Amanda's for a baptism party for baby Claire. It was a busy weekend, but so fun.

Walt is pulling up on and standing next to anything he can find, including women's legs. He has been eating some fun food. He really likes veggie burgers, freeze dried fruit, watermelon, and fresh Missouri peaches.

Meet Walt's Good Friend

Here is a picture of Diane and Wally's new puppy Bruno. Walt and Bruno just run and crawl and bark and talk to each other. It is a beautiful friendship.

It's getting HOT down here!

Today the heat index is expected to reach 105. I think that our (Walt andmommy) days of long afternoon naps are over. We did get out on Saturday am and took Walt to our favorite park. Walt and Bob "rode" the turtle. Bob looks a little more excited than Walt. This afternoon I got out our pool and I found a shady spot for him to enjoy the cool water on a hot day. Needless to say, I probably should have joined him, I was sweating after about 2 minutes!

Walt is now full on crawling and pulling himself up where ever he can. He does the sign language for "more" and now we are working on "all done" (instead of the alternative to all done which has been throwing the food.)

Happy 4th of July!

We started off our holiday with a family walk to the park. Walt loves to crawl into tunnels on the playground. He just laughs and laughs and laughs. Here are some pictures of him peeking out at Mommy from inside the tunnel.
