Some pictures from Iowa

We arrived home from our trip to Iowa and Minnesota on Wednesday, but I am just getting around to posting some more pictures. We had a wonderful time. Walt was pretty good in the car, but like me it gets boring and tiresome to sit for 6 hours. We have had a fun time since we have been back at home Walt is really having fun playing with us. He loves to play with blocks, (really just knock them down). And he just loves to play and play on the floor with his other toys.

First Trip to Minnesota

We timed our trip to Des Moines, so we could go up to Minnesota on Sunday for my cousin Elizabeth's baby shower. Craig and Elizabeth are expecting a baby boy in July. (July 3rd to be exact). Walt, as you know LOVES the Vikings, so he was excited to be in Viking Country.

Walt got to meet a lot of new aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was just great. He actually took a 2 1/2 hour nap in the middle of the shower. Everyone was very impressed with his napping ability. I think that he gets that from his Father. I have some pictures of his older cousins, Suzanne and Elizabeth, as well as the cousins that are his age, Olivia and Ava.

The other picture is of him crawling up a stair! Watch out, bring on the baby gates!!!!

through the floods and onto a parade

We left St Louis and headed north to Des Moines. Parts of Iowa and Missouri have been really devastated by flooding. Walt and I did not have to take any detours because of the floods, but we did see a lot of flooding in Northern Missouri. Walt had a little "moment" by some of the flooding so we stopped and I took a couple pictures. Normally, I see NO water during this part of the drive.

Today my parents were in a parade for my Dad's company. They of course invited Walt along for the ride. Here is my the car my Dad drove in the parade.

Father's Day, grandma comes to town, and pool fun

Grandma Ginther came into town for the weekend. It ws great to have her here, and Walt loved having a few days with her undivided attention.

While she was here we tried some restaurants that we have wanted to go to. Walt just starting sitting in the high chairs, we think that he looks pretty cute in them.

Last night we went over to our friends house to swim and have a bbq. Evan is 8 months old. Walt and Evan seemed somewhat interested in each other. They were pretty cute!

And then there is a picture of Bob and Walt by a big Pig. We took "Dad" to 17th Street BBQ for Father's Day. Bob and I actually went there last Father's Day and loved it.

Walt is 9 Months!

We went to Walt's 9 month Drs appointment. He weighs a whopping 17lbs and 10oz. That is exactly 10lbs more than when he was born. He is getting tall, he is 27 1/2".

Dr. Schmidt still thinks that he is doing great and just gave him a bunch of love.

Walt babbles on and on. We talk back. Sometimes in baby talk and sometimes in "adult" talk.

He can now sit up on his own from laying on the floor. Way to go abs!

He has 3 teeth and a 4th one is imminent.

The 2nd picture is of our neighbor Nolan and him at the park.

surprise update

It is not really a BIG surprise at the end of the video, Walt just spits up and it happens right as I stopped the camera. SOME people were confused and I just wanted to clarify.

army crawl

Here it is the long awaited crawling video. He has crawled a few times on his hands and knees, but does seem to prefer the army crawl. He must get that from his Uncle Tom.
There is a little surprise right at the end of the video, Walt loves to show off.

standing and swinging

Today, (mind you daddy did not like this) I showed Walt how to stand up in his crib. He loves to be on his belly (so much he barely likes sitting), but he did seem to love being a "standin' guy". Every morning (3 so far) this summer we have been going on a 2 mile walk. It helps mommy to get back in shape and Walt loves to be outside. Our walks have been by parks so each day we stop to swing and get a drink of water. He loves the swing. I wish we had a tree in our yard to put one on, luckily there is a park about a 5 min walk away.
