Happy Half Birthday Walt!

Wow! Our little guy is 6 months old. I was telling my students that it was his 1/2 Birthday today and one student said, "Already! I feel like you just had him." It was cute that she said that. Some days it does feel that way. Although yesterday I came across a picture of me about a week before I had Walt and it does seem like a long time ago that I was pregnant.

Walt went to the Doctor today and the Drs quote was "He is doing AWESOME!". Well, duh, all of us and you blog readers knew that already! He is now 14lbs 7ozs, and he is 26 5/8 inches long. So basically long and skinny! He had 3 more shots and was such a brave man. He barely cried for a minute.

The Doctor said that we can start him on food. So tonight he had sweet potatoes. I made one yesterday, so today I just added a little bit of water and heated them up a little and guess what our little skinny guy loved them!

Here is a video of him and his eating!

Aunt Jess Rocks!

We spent the whole weekend with Aunt Jessica. It was fun. Friday night we went out to dinner with her and Troy. Today (Sunday) we went to the 2nd half of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship game. Drake University (which is in Des Moines) was in the finals, and won the game. It was Walt's first Basketball Game. He seemed to enjoy it. Tonight we went and watched some of Bob's hockey game.

It is great having Jessica around. Even though we out number walt 2-1, it is even better to out number the little guy 3-1. :)

Walt is ready even if the 'Lou is not.

So as I mentioned yesterday it was 75 degrees and sunny. Today the weather changed and it was a high of around 45 this morning. Now there is a thick layer of ice and the start of snow. They are talking that it may be another snow day tomorrow. The "south" is a little chilly this year.
Even though the weather turned, I did think that Walt should be ready if summer/spring ever comes to stay.

75 and Sunny!

These are the days that I love living down here in the "south". (my mom always says that we live in the south, so we joke about it!) Today was simply beautiful. It was 75 degrees and sunny with a nice wind. We met our friends Tom, Lisa, and baby Evan for lunch. We ate at an outdoor patio and then headed to a sculpture park to walk with the boys. We ended up walking about 1.5 miles and had a great time chatting about our new lives as parents.

These pictures are of Walt and Bob goofing off at the park.

JuMpErOo!

Our next door neighbors have a son Nolan who is 2, they have passed along to us some things that they don't use anymore like clothes, and they gave us this contraption called a Jumperoo. We put it in our basement and have not really thought about it.

I was talking to a teacher at school the other day and she said that her daughter loved the jumperoo when she was around 6 months. So I said, "Bob, we need to get that Jumper thing out of the basement, before Walt is too big for it". We brought it upstairs and it is pretty big. Walt really does seem to like it, but he can't really jump in it because he can really only get one little tip toe on the floor. SO it seems that Walt will have some time to "grow" into the Jumperoo.

Today it was 60 degrees in St Louis, tomorrow it is suppose to be closer to 70!

Spring days are ahead! Thank goodness.

Rolling Over

Hello Blogger Friends.

Sorry for the delay in posting. We have no excuses (well I guess we could blame Walt).

Walt has been doing some new fun things! He has been able to roll from his belly to his back for a while now (remember the video), but now he can roll from his back to his belly. Most of the time he does this to get a toy that really looks yummy! Yes, that's right Walt is a eater of toys (does it concern us that most of his toys were made in China- yes frankly it does).

Walt has also been sleeping through the night on a pretty regular basis. Mommy and Daddy love that!

Here are three pictures of him rolling over.

Happy 5 Months

Walt has been on this earth for 5 months! It seems like that is such a short amount of time, but Bob and I really can't remember life without him.

Tonight we gave him a taste of some food other than breastmilk. He had some rice cereal (yummy!). He actually did really seem to enjoy it. It was funny, he would eat off the spoon and then stick his fist into his mouth and suck on his hand. They say that it takes babies a while to learn how to swallow without sucking.

Enjoy the pics of Walt. We will be having some fun nights ahead.

2nd Blues Game and Walt was awake!

There was a Blues game today at 5pm. So the whole family treked out in the cold temps to go to the game. If you remember Walt went to a game back when he was 7 weeks old. And he slept through most of the game. This game was a different story he was awake and alert and it seems that Walt "may" love the Blues as much as his father.

I wish that I could say that Walt brought the Blues a win, it was an overtime loss. So mark it down Walt is 0-2 when attending Blues games.

Weekend with Nanny and Poppie

Diane, Wally, and Baxter came up to take care of WAlt so Bob and I could go to Mardi Gras. Well, Bob got the stomach flu so he stayed home, but the rest of us went to celebrate. Diane took some great videos (which we will try to post later, we are going to try to edit a little). Here are some of the pictures that she took.

Walt is talking so much now, it is just too cute.
