Farewell - for now....

Well, this is the end (for my solo blog at least). Dad has set up a new site for pictures of my sister and me, and while it's been a bit of an adjustment not being the only child, I'm doing great. From now on, you should go to the new site:

last day as a single

Yes, I am being induced tomorrow and walt and I are still galavanting around StL. I just am not a stay at home person. So today we went to Monkey Joes. It is a place with a ton of those inflatables that kids can jump in. It was fun. Here are a couple videos and pictures of walt's last day as a single child. Poor kid, he does not really "know" what is happening....

City Garden

Today, we went down to the riverfront to watch the air show. Walt wasn't really impressed, and after it was over, we went to City Garden to play in the fountains. Here are some pictures.

Botanical Garden

On Saturday, we went to the Botanical Gardens to see their dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaurs were a bit underwhelming, but it was a good time nonetheless. In the first two pictures, Walt dressed up as a ladybug, and was pollenating flowers - I know, VERY masucline. In the third picture, he's dressed up as an Indian (presumably ready to stereotypically scalp some unsuspecting paleface).

-I (sara) love to read the paper everyday with breakfast, so now walt reads the comics everyday with me. It is pretty adorable

-Walt loves to wear sunglasses, his or sometimes Sara's

-We went to the zoo today and we are at the very awesome penguin exhibit and all he wants to do is listen to info about the penguins on the phone, mind you there are live penguins just a few feet away...

Walt is spending 2 days down with Diane and Wally. Diane was so sweet to email us some pictures tonight of Baxter and Walt at the great pool by their house. Looks like they were both in heaven. We are so lucky to have some wonderfully fabulous grandparents!

The Magic House

We had a great time at the St Louis Children's Museum called the Magic House. Walt just went from exhibit to exhibit. He checked babies heartbeats in the nursery, made pizza, went grocery shopping, built houses, blew bubbles, and then went outside to make sand castles. It was a great morning.

Playgroup

Walt and Sara get together with a bunch of other teachers and their kids every Tuesday. Sara is the coordinator of the playgroup. Last week one of the teachers had lunch at her house. Here are some of the kids. Notice walt's dirty dirty legs!

Walt has been doing a lot of building with his blocks these days. He loves to build them very tall and then knock them over. Today Walt took a picture of one of his castles (before the demo).

Happy Father's Day!

We went to our annual lunch at 17th Street Bar and Grill for amazing BBQ. We started this tradition when bob was a father to be. We have a picture by the pig each year. Next year it will be fun to have other person in the picture.

Race for the Cure

Every year I try to do the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of my mom. She is a 7 year breast cancer survivor.
This year walt and I went we were members of the Blues Team. Over 71,000 other people were walking/running with us.

Butterfly House and Carousel

Chesterfield has a great park that has a butterfly house, carousel, and playground. Last Saturday we spent many hours there.

The Circus

There are very red eyes in this picture, we went to Circus Flora a local circus production. Walt loved it especially the dogs that did tricks.

So I know that we've been pretty bad about posting blogs, and we're sorry about that. Here are some action shots from the "pool opening" as well as a video. Stay cool everyone....

last day of school

Yesterday was walt's last day of school. He loved his time in the orange room, the teachers were beyond amazing. They sent us emails and pictures almost daily of what they were up to. It was a great way to have conversations with walt about what he did each day.

Today they sent a picture of each child sleeping, what a beautiful site.

Puddle Jumpin'

The teachers asked the kids to wear rain boots today because they were going to JUMP in the puddles. It looks like it was a grand success.

Big News!

I think that it is blog worthy to announce a big step in walt's life..... he went "pee in the potty"! First time folks. Just had to share and figured you did not need a picture :) Will post pictures this weekend.

Meet the Machines 2010

We went back to this amazing free family event! Walt got to go up in a cherry picker and look at tons of other cool machines. He is still talking about how much fun he had on Saturday.

This picture is from last week when they spent a good amount of time with dirt/worms/etc. I thought it was worth a blog posting.

Root Beer Float

Today at school, Walt's class had Root Beer Floats. I can't remember why, but someone brought them in, and you know Walt - he'll eat pretty much anything.... The picture really portrays him as a ladies' man too.
