Christmas with the Ginthers
We traveled to Des Moines for 5 days to spend Christmas with the Ginthers. We had a lot of fun. Walt really liked that he kept getting toy after toy. Our niece Victoria is 2 and she is super fun and Walt loved playing with her. She is a big talker so walt picked up some new words while we were in DSM. Walt is now saying "Hi" and "Bye"- mostly at appropriate times. :)
The First Haircut!
Walt has the best mom?!?!
These videos are from earlier in the month, but so funny! As I am trying to capture his young life, he is getting into "dangerous" situations.

Enjoying some mild weather...
This weekend has been wonderful. Saturday it was in the high 40s and today it got to the mid 50s! Walt has loved spending some extra time outside, we have been to the park twice. Yesterday we had breakfast with Santa at the zoo. (I will scan the pics and then upload them soon) Today our big event was going to the grand re-opening of HWY 64/40. I know it is a little weird, but we got to take the stroller on the hwy and take a nice walk. People had bikes, skateboards, and dogs. It was fun.
Here are some pictures from our walk yesterday and from the breakfast at the zoo.

The weather outside is frightful...
well actually the past 2 days it has been in the upper 40s. Walt and I played at the park on Monday after school, but tonight it has dropped into the low 20s. So Walt is ready with his new snowsuit (well actuall it is not new, I have to admit that I bought this patagonia snowsuit when I was probably 20 at the White Elephant Resale shop in Chicago) :)
spoon?!?!
SO I decided to try the ol' spoon tonight at dinner, he was using it great....until the camera came out. This video is not great, but I think it is funny.

Thanksgiving Day!
We traveled to Des Moines for Thanksgiving. We alternate years with Ginthers and Wichards. It was a LONG drive. Walt decided that he wanted to be awake for over 5 hours of our 6 hour drive. He was not bad in the car, just a little bored. :)
We had a wonderful and busy Thanksgiving with Walt's 2 year old cousin Victoria! It was very nice here yesterday so Walt played in the leaves after dinner. He loved it. Maybe it is a hint that I should rake the few leaves that are at our house.
We head home on Saturday afternoon. I have big hopes for being a better blogger in December.

Busy Busy (walt and the blog manager!)
November has not been a good month of bloging and I apoligize. Walt has been doing super cute things and we have captured them on camera, we just have been so behind in sharing them.
Walt now has 5 words in his vocabulary. We have a paper on our bulletin board where we keep all of them (thanks to nik and kelly for that great idea). They are....
mama
dada
nana (for banana and Nanny)
uh-oh
elmo (who knows?!?!?)
We will try to to get some talking on video for you.
Here are some pictures of walt this weekend down in Cape Girardeau. We went for the weekend to hang out with the Wichards and Hedge Families.

Happy Halloween (2 days ago)
We hope that everyone had a fun Halloween. Walt seemed to really enjoy himself, as a dragon. I took Walt to school on Friday, the kids loved seeing him and Walt loved showing off his new walking skills. On Friday night instead of going Trick or Treating we went to Tom and Lisa's house- their street was having a block party.
This weekend was warm, so we spent a lot of time outside. We know that it will probably be short lived.

First Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Grandma Ginther came into town for the weekend. We had a fun and busy weekend. Saturday we started the morning by going to a pumpkin patch over the river in Illinois. It was fun. Walt really liked the piles of hay. He liked tasting the hay as well. We played and played and then we got some pumpkins and headed home.
When you come to visit us we will probably (or already have) take you to Blues City Deli. It is on our corner. Saturday they were celebrating their 4th Anniversary. They blocked out part of our street and had a street fest. It was a fun day! I hope that they do it every year.
